New Mexico First would like to acknowledge The Albuquerque Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (ACVB) for conceiving of and sponsoring this event. ACVB is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors elected from its member-base of approximately 1,000 business partners. In addition to elected directors, three directors are appointed by the city (2 council and 1 administrative) and several ex officio directors serve, representing tourism-related industries. The mission of ACVB is to stimulate economic growth by marketing Albuquerque as a convention and visitor destination. ACVB is funded by Lodgers Tax (a tax paid for by visitors to New Mexico), In Kind Contributions, and Revenues from Membership.
With approximately 40 staff and a volunteer base of 120, ACVB focuses on the following:
-
Generating convention sales and services from trade associations, corporate entities and athletic events
-
Marketing the greater Albuquerque area as a leisure destination
-
Building supportive relationships with community businesses and generating private sector revenue
- Developing a qualified, motivated staff to provide meaningful reports and maintain effective operational systems to support strategic marketing and budgetary decisions
