Event Overview

As Washington considers ways to reform our nation’s healthcare system, many New Mexicans want to know more about what is being proposed, what is not, and how it might affect them. U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman addressed citizens’ questions at a special deliberative town hall, organized using New Mexico First’s consensus process.

The four-hour event was divided into two parts:

  1. Small group deliberations where citizens discussed their concerns and then reached consensus on their top questions for the Senator
  2. A town hall discussion during which Senator Bingaman answered each group’s most urgent questions about healthcare reform
